Emily Blair

I am not a licensed counselor or educated mental health specialist, I am a survivor of domestic abuse. I am working on picking up all the pieces that he broke in me and hopefully through this process I am able to help others, share resources and give support.

Focus

I have been focusing on therapy in my own life for years, I actually started therapy through EAP services I receive from my work. My boss encouraged me to pursue the free therapy sessions after my x had broken my nose and the police report went public in a new paper article, leaving me devastated in November 2021.

I have continued therapy since to this day and truly believe that it has helped, it has taught me coping skills, gave me a non-bias sounding board, provided me with empathy and nonjudgment, and my therapist has provided me with numerous resources to help myself and my children in healing.

Healing

I am still healing… A few months ago, I made a post publicly on a public Facebook page that blasted guys whom girls were talking to or interested in dating, looking for gossip or red flags.

My x-fiancé had been posted anonymously… there were comments made by many woman, woman I had never known or heard of. I also received multiple direct/personal messages regarding Steven.

On August 2, 2023 I for the first time truly stated my truth: I was abused physically, mentally, and sexually for years by my x Steven.

Even more heartbreaking I realize now how abused I was by my x-husband Evan.
